Wayne Brown

November 11, 1928 — December 12, 2012

Wayne Arnold Brown, Grove resident, died peacefully on December 12, 2012 at the age of 84 years. Wayne was born in Elsmore, Kansas to his parents, David and Stella (Fitzmaurice) Brown. He graduated from Chanute High School and proudly served his country in the US Army. He loved woodworking, fishing and working on cars. Wayne was a member of the American Legion and the VFW, as well as a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Wayne worked as a switchman on the Santa Fe Railroad. He is preceded in death by his parents; previous wife, Dolores; brother, Dale, Ed, Martin and George; sisters, Grace, Bessie, and Martha; son Clinton. Wayne leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Phoebe; sons, Kirt Brown and Donald Clark and wife Jackie; daughters, Karen Rogers, Donna Beneke, Chris Craig, Leslie Talbot and husband Greg, Vanetta Warkentin and husband Scott and Donna Miller and husband Max; sisters, Doris Tinsley and Alice Splane; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Visitation will be 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Monday December 17, 2012 at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services celebrating Wayne's life will be held 1:00 PM Monday at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Mayes officiating. Interment will follow at Olympus North Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Casketbearers will be Jason Wright, Billy Wright, David Wright, Kirt Brown, Jerry Craig, and Greg Lamp. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
