Virginia Ropp

Virginia Beatrice Ropp, age 84, a resident of Bartlesville died Friday October 20, 2006 at Silver Lake Care Center in Bartlesville. She was born June 25, 1922 in Bartlesville the daughter of Jacob A. Hymer and Mabel Shoup Hymer. She was reared and educated in Oklahoma and Kansas graduating high school in May of 1941 from Bartlesville High School. She and Ray Ropp were married in Bartlesville June 20, 1941. She was a member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School. In 1985 she retired from Phillips Petroleum Company where she had worked in the addressograph division. Virginia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who's greatest pleasure was spending time and doing for her family. Mrs. Ropp is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry D. and Joyce Ropp of Dewey, Danny M. and Teresa Ropp of Bartlesville, a daughter and son in law, Vickie L. and Dennis C. Sprague of Bartlesville, a daughter in law and husband, Darlene and Max Green of Spartanburg, S.C., seven grand children, Rodney D. Ropp, Ginger (Ropp) Kearney and husband Kevin, Devin Ropp, Kentucky Ropp, Kevin M. and Jayda Ropp, Shelly (Ropp) Schultz and husband Jeff , Nicole Cupp and six great grand children, Rebekah, Sarah and Raelyn Ropp, Henry and Heidi Schultz, and Casey Kearney. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 1998, one son William David (Bill) Ropp her parents and two brothers. In lieu of flowers the family requests a memorial be made to the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. Those who would like to make a donation may do so in care of the Church office at 132 S.W. Virginia Ave, Bartlesville, OK 74003. Funeral services for Mrs. Ropp will be Thursday October 26, 2006 at the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin M.
