Vira Estella Rogers, fondly known as Vi, passed away on January 8, 2024, at Monroe Manor in Jay, Oklahoma. She was born on May 5, 1938, in Highfill, Arkansas, and was the loving daughter of Samuel and Hilda (Cockrell) Wilson.
Vi lived an extraordinary life as a talented hairdresser and touched the lives of many through her profession and her warm personality. Her clients admired her not only for her talent but also for her kind-hearted nature and genuine interest in their lives. Vi was not just a hairstylist; she was a confidante and friend to those who sat in her chair.
Outside of work, Vi had various interests including, quilting, traveling, attending church services, any and all things outdoors. Above all else, family meant everything to Vi, and she cherished the time spent with loved ones.
She is survived by her son Jerry Murphy; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Vi was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ron Rogers, and son Troy Murphy. Vi will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she impacted.
A visitation will be held on January 10, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home located at 777 S 16th St, Jay, OK 74346. The funeral service will take place on January 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Jay First Assembly of God Church, situated at 908 N Main St, Jay, OK 74346. Vi will be laid to rest beside her husband in Eucha Cemetery.
