Tony Bishop

Tony Bishop, passed away at his home in Jay, OK, on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the age of 65. Tony was born on October 19, 1947 in Jay, OK, the son of Jewel Bishop and Blanche (Stanton) Bishop. Tony grew up in Jay, OK and later graduated from Jay High School in 1965. Tony served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969. He married Joyce "Mickey" Gallagher in May of 1975 in Miami, OK. Tony worked for J.D. Graham construction for several years until becoming a grader operator for Delaware county retiring in 2007. Tony enjoyed going on drives and in his younger years fishing and hunting, but most of all he loved to be with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father; one son Ronnie Bishop; and two brothers: Don Bishop and Raymond Bishop. He is survived by his wife Joyce "Mickey" Bishop of the home; five children: Lorey Alexander, Clay Eaton and his wife Chearil, Peggy Willis and her husband Terry, Julie Raymond and her husband Jimmy, and Kim Landrum and her husband T.J.; mother Blanche Bishop; four siblings: Ken Bishop and his wife Tracy, John Bishop and his wife Bonnie, Jake Bishop and his wife Evelyn, and Ann Spragins and her husband Galen, and Linda Beal and her husband Benny; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Delaware Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 2PM with Rev. Johnnie Faught, presiding. The burial will follow at the Duffield Cemetery in Jay, OK. The family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK on Monday, June 3, 2013. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Tony's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Chris Beal, Brandon Alexander, John Alexander, and Gary Bishop.
