Steven Chidester

Steven Kyle Chidester, age 50 a resident of Vinita died Wednesday October 8, 2008 at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. He was born March 6, 1958 in Miami, Oklahoma the son of Don Chidester and Patsy "Moore" O'Brien. He was reared and attended Fairland School. In the Seventies he moved to the Home of Hope in Vinita and has been a resident of the assisted living homes. He was a special Olympian and received metals in swimming, bowling, and horseback riding. Steven also loved OU Football and going to the Vinita Hornets Football games, country & western music, professional wrestling, but most of all he loved his family and friends. Steven is survived by his mother, Patsy O'Brien of Norman, OK, one sister, Cindy O'Brien and husband Kelly McElhaney of Norman, OK, one niece and nephew Katie and Eamonn. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Lorene Moore and step dad, Eddie O'Brien. Funeral services will be Monday October 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Irving officiating. Committal Rite's will be Tuesday October 14, 2008 in the IOOF Cemetery at Norman OK at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
