Stanley Eugene Dawson

Stanley Eugene Dawson, age 82, born on December 5, 1942, in Harlem, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at his home in Eucha, Oklahoma. For many years, Stanley dedicated his career as an over-the-road trucker, a profession he embraced with pride until his retirement in 1989. Following his retirement, Stanley and his wife, Connie Jo 'Cantrell' Dawson, settled in Eucha, where they continued to nurture their family and pursue hobbies that brought them joy.

Stanley’s life was filled with cherished moments spent with his loved ones. He was a devoted husband, marrying Connie in October of 1961, who he deeply cherished. Together, they created a warm and loving home for their children, Johnny Dawson and his wife Pamela, and daughter Joyce Johnson and her husband David. Stanley was especially proud of his three grandchildren: Christopher Cole Dawson, Russel Dawson and his wife Tegan, and Brydon Dawson and his wife Kalee, as well as his two great-grandchildren, Brynlee Dawson and Myla Dawson.

In addition to his professional life and commitment to family, Stanley enjoyed spending time fishing and crafting cabinets, talents that reflected his love for the outdoors and craftsmanship. His hands-on nature allowed him to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. Stanley served as a Deacon and Song Leader for Southside Church of Christ in Jay, Oklahoma.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Dawson and Evelyn 'Hall' Dawson.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 PM, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Southside Church of Christ in Jay, Oklahoma. Stanley will be laid to rest in Mose Ridge Cemetery.
