Roy Morrow

December 30, 1920 — September 16, 2006

Grove, Ok - Roy V. Morrow went to be with his Lord on September 16, 2006 at his home in Grove. He was 85. Roy was born December 30, 1920 to Raymond and Edna Morrow at Picher, Ok. He attended school in Picher and completed Business College in Miami, Ok. He then went on to work for Western Electric Company in Wichita, KS as an installer until joining the United States Army in 1942. Roy was stationed in Africa and Italy during World War II. September 8, 1947 Roy married the love of his life, Marie Schoenecker at Wichita, Ks. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a Switching Tech for thirty years. In 1977 Roy and his family transferred to Pittsburg, Ks where he continued to work for Southwestern Bell until retiring in 1979 to the Grand Lake Area. He was a charter member of the Messiah Baptist Church in Wichita, Ks. that was started in 1964 and after moving to Grove, Roy was instrumental in starting the Bible Baptist Church in Grove, Ok in 1980 where he attended faithfully until his health declined. Roy enjoyed fishing and working outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his family and was devoted to his church and his Lord. Survivors include his wife of over 59 years, Marie Morrow of Grove. Three sons: Pastor Guy Morrow and wife Brenda, Grove, OK; Jerry Morrow and wife Janet, Bedford, Tx; Larry Morrow and wife Brandie, Broken Arrow, Ok. Nine grandchildren: Karin Nichols and husband Brian, Grove, Ok; John Morrow and wife Megan, Weatherford, Ok; Nicolas Morrow, Dallas, Tx; Ryan Morrow, Ft. Hurlburt Field Air Force Base, Navarre, Florida, Casey, Colton and Hunter Morrow, Broken Arrow, OK; step-grandchildren Jessica and Thomas Brezinski, Bedford, Tx. Three great grand children: Holden Nichols, Hannah and Jackson Morrow. Funeral services to be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Bible Baptist Church, Grove, Ok. Rev. David Jackson to officiate with Rev. Guy Morrow, and Rev. Bill Hayward assisting. Visitation will be 6- 8:00 pm Monday at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
