Roy M. Miller, 80-year-old Vinita resident died on Friday, November 3, 2006 at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. Mr. Miller was born on August 23, 1926 in Vinita, to Milton and Bernice (Barnes) Miller. He married Bernice Gilbert on May 13, 1945 at the Church of God Parsonage in Vinita. Roy attended Northeastern Jr. College in Miami then went to the Tulsa School of Christian Education. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army, in Pacific and Philippine Campaigns. He worked for B.F. Goodrich for 33 ½ years, and was a Church of Christ Minister for 42 years, he served as a minister for three different congregations Baker Church of Christ in Ketchum, Vinita Church of Christ; here he was instrumental in bringing two churches together and building a new church building and Timber Hill Church of Christ. Mr. Miller was a member of the Toastmasters and American Legion. He is preceded in death by a son Roy Lee Miller, brothers Ed and Howard Miller and his parents Milton and Bernice Miller. Survivors include his wife of sixty one years Bernice Miller, a son Jim Miller his wife Connie, their daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and John along with their two children Carlie and Jackson, a son Ron Miller and his wife Lee, their children Heath and Barbara, a daughter Lynnetta Miller Girouex and her husband Charlie, and their children Matthew and Kristen. A sister Mary Ann Mitchell of Claremore also survives. Funeral Services are 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the Vinita Church of Christ with Mr. Justin Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Ft.
