Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK 918-253-3222. Ronald Coy Rogers passed away on September 13, 2015 at Integris Grove General Hospital at the age of 63. Ronald was the son of Coy Lee and Naomi (Spohn) Rogers and was born on March 12, 1952 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Ron was united in marriage to the love of his life Vi Wilson. Ron retired from Northeastern Electric Cooperation as a Supervisor. Ron's true passion was his music ministry. He played both the trumpet and the keyboard, performing for nursing homes, churches, revivals and in Dogwood Park. Ron enjoyed food, period…. He loved people and had an outgoing personality that never met a stranger. He enjoyed making knives and spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. Ron spent two eight year terms on the Jay City Council and 2 years on the rural water board. Ron was preceded in death by his father Coy Rogers in 1990, a daughter Tanya Renee Hackworth and a son Troy Murphy. He is survived by his mother Naomi Rogers of Jay, his wife Vi Rogers of the home, two sons Greg and his wife Denise Rogers of Tulsa, Jerry and his wifeAlecia Murphy of Grove, two sisters Carolyn and Jack Bennett of Jay, Jan and Anthony Due of Pryor, three honorary brothers Larry Bennett, Ken Newby and Rick Henson. Ron was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, six treat grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Ron will be missed dearly by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8PM, Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2PM, Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Assembly of God Church in Jay with Reverend Lennie Martin and Reverend Richard "Duke" Pickup officiating. Ron will be laid to rest in the Eucha Cemetery. Family and Friends may leave online condolences and share memories of Ron by viewing his Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com.
