Robert Ray "Bob" Kelly, 59, of Jay, Oklahoma went home to his Lord and Savior early Monday, July 27, 2009 at his home. Bob was born July 28, 1949 at Vinita, Oklahoma to Earl Francis and Aloma Maxyne (Boydstun) Kelly. He graduated from C. E. Donart High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He attended college at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, and Fresno City College in Fresno, California. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam area and served overseas. Bob was a rancher and raised Angus cattle. From 1984-1989, Bob ran the Zena store. During this time, he also served on the Zena Cemetery board and was instrumental in the organization of the Zena Fire Department. On May 27, 2006, Bob married Rebecca Sue Reed on his ranch at Jay. Bob's family was extremely important to him and as a member of the American Angus Association, he loved showing cattle with his grandson, Josh. Bob was also very active in the Zena Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School for a couple of years. Bob was a man of principle and he stood up for what he believed. One of his favorite quotes was, "It's an ill wind that blows no good." Bob had a big heart and he was very loving. He was often heard to say, "I'm always willing to help somebody who is willing to help themselves." Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved to mess with anybody. It was well known that if he liked you he would tease you. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Maxyne Kelly, and one stepson, Troy Springsguth. Survivors include his wife, Becky Kelly of Jay; one daughter, Brandy Goff and her husband, Larry of Jay; one stepdaughter, Sonya Gordon of Pryor; two stepsons, Cody Springsguth and his wife Becky of Chula Vista, California and Sean Worley and his wife Alisha of Jay; two sisters, Aloma Jo Blaylock and her husband, J. W. of Port Angeles, Washington and Earlene Frances Calloway and her husband Tony of Tulsa; nine grandchildren, Josh Goff, Cameron Gordon, Kyle Gordon, Katelin Gordon, and Falisha Shepherd all of Jay, Baylee Springsguth of Grove, Kaleb Worley of Fort Drum, New York, Cody Springsguth, Jr. and Danny Springsguth both of Chula Vista, California. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Zena Baptist Church in Zena, Oklahoma with Brother Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Zena Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Bryant, Darren Reed, Nate Neihaus, Cody Springsguth, Sean Worley, and Jerry Brixey. Wayne Brady and James Haukenberry will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Fort Sill Honors Team, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, will provide Military Honors. The family suggests memorials for Bob to be sent to the Zena Baptist Church, 36191 S 575 Rd., Jay, OK 74346.
