Opal Faulconer

Vinta, OK - Opal M. Faulconer, 82, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. Opal was born September 18, 1925 at White Oak, Oklahoma to Leroy "Roy" Bennett and Jewell Agnes (Williams) Bennett. She grew up in White Oak and lived most of her life there. She married Willard Elmer Faulconer, Sr. in 1942 at Vinita, Oklahoma. Mr. Faulconer preceded his wife in death December 10, 1996. Opal had worked for the Kinder Cookie Factory in Vinita; Munsingwear Clothiers; U.S. Munitions Plant, Parsons, Kansas and the Pryor Foundry, Pryor, Oklahoma, where she worked as a chipper and grinder for many years. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed walking, word circle puzzles, singing and taking care of her grandchildren. Survivors are her four children, Wanda Shamblin and her husband, Leon of White Oak, Roy Lee Faulconer and his wife, Holly, Barbara Morrison and her husband, Jake and Larry Joe "Butch" Faulconer, all of Vinita; five brothers, Leroy Bennett and his wife, Norma of Vinita, Buss Bennett of White Oak, Bob Bennett and his wife, Sammie of Vinita, Sonnie Bennett and his wife, Linda and Jerry Bennett, all of White Oak; two sisters, Dorothy Patton and her husband, Earl and Linda Scott, all of White Oak; eleven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Willard Elmer Faulconer, Jr.; three brothers, Elmer Glenn "Pat" Bennett, Gerald Bennett and an infant brother and by four sisters, Imogene Vandeveer and Doris, Tiny and Maxine Bennett, who all died in a 1947 house fire. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m.,Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in White Oak Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 06, 2007.
