Michael Morrison

Michael Robert Morrison, 63 year old resident of the Coves on Bird Island (near Cleora), died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at his home. Mike was born May 15, 1946 in Elgin, Illinois. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he was an All-American Golfer in 1967-68. Mike was married to his wife Gigi on July 21, 1967 in Little Rock. They have been residents of Little Rock, Arkansas, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and in the Coves since 1999. Mike worked as a furniture sales representative for many furniture companies for 40 years, and was salesman of the year for many companies. He was still an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his friends at the Coves. He was a member of the St. Francis of Rome Catholic Church in Langley. The family includes: his wife Gigi of the home, a son Rob Morrison of Oklahoma City, a daughter Leigh Morrison of Nashville, Tennessee, three brothers Steve Morrison of Hickory, North Carolina and wife Teresa, Pat Morrison of Rogers, Arkansas, and wife Ann, Matt Morrison of Little Rock and wife Rhonda; brother in-law, Jim Wolfe of Tulsa and wife Trish. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. May 5, 2010 at the Cleora Methodist Church, with Pastor Rich Brasher and Mr. Jim Gray officiating.
