Mary Louise Lackey

Mary Louise Lackey, age 84, passed away on December 28, 2024, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on May 15, 1940, in Meade, Kansas, Mary lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to her family.

An outgoing person, Mary possessed a warm and welcoming personality that drew others to her. She cherished spending time with her family, who were the center of her life. Her passions included watching Jay Bulldog sports, reading, crocheting, and enjoying western shows.

Mary raised a loving family, leaving behind her children: Sandra Hood and husband Don, Sue Warcester and husband Tim, Sharon Bailey and husband Steven, Wanda Dieker, Deidre Giest, and Brandon Lackey and wife Tia, as well as Desmond Lackey and wife Michelle. Her legacy continues through her 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Winfred Lackey, her parents, Robert and Ida McKinnis, her husband Winfred Lackey, her daughter Valerie Penfeld, and her siblings: Raymond McKinnis, Calvin McKinnis, Doris Fryer, and Donnie McKinnis. Their absence is felt deeply as she joins them in eternal rest.

Mary Louise Lackey will be remembered for her joyful spirit, dedication to her family, and the myriad of cherished memories she created during her lifetime. Her love and light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on January 2, 2025, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM,  Friday, January 3, 2025, at Delaware Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Bronson officiating. Mary will be laid to rest in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri.
