Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita - Mary Sue (Couch) Carter, 88 year old Vinita resident died on Thursday evening, March 27, 2014 at the Claremore Regional Hospital. She was born on February 18, 1926 in Oklahoma City to Joe and Genevieve (Shanahan) Couch. Mary Sue married Billy B. Carter on August 24, 1945 in Oklahoma City, he preceded her in death in 1993. They had lived in Lompoc, California and Ponca City, Oklahoma before moving back to Vinita several years ago. Mary Sue worked as a receptionist at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita for 11 years retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita, was a Cherry Red for Craig General Hospital, and had served previously on the Vinita Public Library Board. Preceding her in death were her parents, Joe and Genevieve Couch; husband Billy B. Carter in 1993; son, Billy Charles Carter in 1973; and granddaughter, K.C. (Montana) Randolph in 2007 and a brother Pat Couch. The family includes: her children, Katie Sigler and husband Jeff of Vinita, Jo Montana and husband Freddie of Vinita, Tim Carter and wife Janatha of Ketchum, Chris Carter and wife Jody of Vinita; grandchildren, Kendra Montana, Park Carter, Tim Carter, Launi Bo Wylie, Brooke Carter, Billy Carter, Adam Carter, Jared Sigler, and Kimberlee Chuculate; eight great-grandchildren. The Rosary will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 6 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita. The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita with Rev. M. E. Cashen officiating. Interment will follow at the Carselowey Cemetery. Montana Randolph Foundation, the Vinita Public Library or the Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
