Marjorie Owen

Mrs. Marjorie Isabel (Reynolds) Lantz Owen, age 85, and resident of Bartlesville, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 13, 2012, at her home in Bartlesville. Marjorie Isabel Reynolds was born on March 20, 1927 in Morrill, Kansas. She was the daughter of Frederick Reynolds and Audrey Anna (Mellenbruch) Reynolds. She was raised in Fairview, Kansas where she attended school. She graduated from San Mateo, California High School in 1944; she then joined the Army Cadet Corp. After moving to Kansas City, Missouri she began working in the different hospitals. On January 5, 1946, Marjorie and Robert E. Lantz were united in marriage in Kansas City. After they were married, they made their home in Salina, Kansas. She began her career as a nurse's aid at St. Johns Hospital in 1956, retiring in 1989. After 49 years of marriage, Robert preceded her in death on April 23, 1995. After her marriage to Kenneth Owen on November 26, 1998, Marjorie and he moved to Bartlesville and she resided there until her death. Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Salina, Kansas. Some of her other memberships included the Peacemakers Sunday School Class; she served on the Election Board in Salina for many years; and was a leader for Brownies, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Some of the other things she enjoyed were Aquacize at the YWCA; gardening in her flower beds; and watching and caring for the birds. Marjorie loved and was loved deeply by all her family and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Lantz; son, Steven Lantz; step-son, Stephan Owen; son-in-law, Robert Hull; three brothers, Francis Reynolds, Billy Reynolds and Maurice Reynolds. Survivors include her husband of the home, Kenneth; three children, Donna Merlette of Hiawatha, Kansas, Susan Lantz of Blachly, Oregon, Teresa Hull of Fairview, Kansas; six step-children, Ronnie Owen and his wife, Karen, of Arlington, Texas, Don Owen and his wife, Gwen, of Bartlesville, Cheryl Brock and her husband, Joe, of Grove, Oklahoma, Kenny Owen of Edwardsville, Kansas, Naomi Warren and her husband, John, of Dodge City, Kansas, and Meredith Morton and her husband, Wesley, of Dodge City, Kansas; two sisters, Myrta Anderson and her husband, Charles, of Arvada, Colorado, and Anne Frey and her husband, John, of Mankato, Minnesota; two brothers, John Reynolds and his wife, Phyllis, of Illinois City, Illinois, and Paul Reynolds and his wife, Jolene, of Fairview, Kansas; and sister - in-law, Bonnie Reynolds of Fairview, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mary Martha Outreach, Bartlesville; Animal Rescue Foundation of Bartlesville; or to East Bartlesville Christian Church, Bartlesville.
