Marguerite Moffitt

Marguerite Moffitt, age 95, died early Tuesday morning October 7, 2008 at her residence in Zena, Oklahoma. Marguerite was born in Burns, Kansas in 1913. To Jacob Brenzikofer and Emma Schupbach Brenzkofer, who were natives of Switzerland. She was married to Alva V Moffitt for fifty-six years. They had one daughter, JoAnn Moffitt Hale. Marguerite served the Lord with her many talents. Throughout the years she was a choir director of numerous churches, the last being the Choir Director of the First Christian Church in Grove, Oklahoma for 23 years. She owned and operated the Health Food Store for approximately 12 years on Main Street in Grove, Oklahoma. Her and husband managed the Methodist Church Camp, Camp Horizon in rural Arkansas City, Kansas for 12 years. Marguerite was the bookkeeper for Shutler's Market in Arkansas City, Kansas for a number of years. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband Alva, a bother and four sisters. Marguerite is survived by her daughter JoAnn Hale and her husband Jim of Zena, Oklahoma. Grandchildren David Lazelle and his wife Connie, Lori Futhey and her husband Robert, step-grandchildren, Ronda Seidenberger and her husband Steve, Letaza Dutton and her husband James, Harlin Hale and his wife Pam, David Hale and his wife Jennifer. Marguerite is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the First Christian Church with Dr. Wayne Shaw and Reverend Gary Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the Buzzard Cemetery. The family has ask that memorial contributions be made to Christ For Africa Mission.
