Madelyn Willcox

Madelyn Marie Willcox, 92, former Bartlesville resident, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at The Baptist Village's Evergreen Care Center in Owasso, OK. She was born April 25, 1918 in Ottawa, Kansas, daughter of Earl Burgess and Pearl (Tawney) Burgess. Her parents moved to Bartlesville when she was just a year old. Madelyn was reared and received her education in Bartlesville where she graduated with the Central High School class of 1936. Madelyn married Delbert S. Willcox on September 10, 1936 in Bartlesville, OK. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in 2000. Mrs. Willcox had been a member of the First Church of the Nazarene since 1950, where she worked in the children's church and was secretary of her Sunday school class. She is survived by: two sons, Ronald D. Willcox and his wife, Cherie, of Santa Clara, CA; and Robert L. Willcox of Owasso, OK; six grandchildren: Kenna Sue Jenner and her husband Todd, Jon Willcox and his wife Rhonda, Stephen Willcox and his wife Adela, Cherron Rangel and her husband Kenneth, Krystie Cupp and her husband Terry and Forrest Scott Willcox and his wife Nevena; eleven great grandchildren: Keith Willcox, Deion Willcox, Chrysta Rangel, Antonio Rangel, Joshua Turner and his wife Rachelle, Tim Turner, Abbey Lea, Madelyn Cupp, Katherine Cupp, Samuel Cupp and Quinten Willcox; one great great grandchild, Hila Marie Turner. Mrs. Willcox was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert S. Willcox and one son, Kenneth Wayne Willcox. Visitation for Mrs. Willcox will be held at Neekamp Luginbuel Funeral Home Tuesday, April 5, 2011 and Wednesday, April 6, 2011from 9 am - 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday April 7, 2011 at The First Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mrs. Willcox may do so at First Church of the Nazarene, 3650 SE Adams Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
