Lloyd Messimore

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma LLOYD GRANT MESSIMORE BELOVED HUSBAND, BROTHER, AND FATHER Lloyd Grant Messimore was born to Delbert & Emma Messimore of Afton, Oklahoma (now deceased) on July 19, 1950 in Sacramento, California. He was 63 years of age when he passed away in his rural home in Jay, Oklahoma from cancer on January 4, 2014. Lloyd spent 20 years dedicated to the United States Army and retired in 1995. After this, he spent many years working in maintenance at various locations until settling at Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. In 2011 he took a leave of absence from Grand Lake Villa due to health concerns and was not able to return prior to his passing. He was also a great lover of animals and could never turn away an animal in need. He especially loved his two male toy poodles, Ambrose and Bogie. If you ever saw Lloyd around town you probably met his two boys as well and who would have thought that this big strong man would have the softest heart for these two small delicate boys. He is survived by his spouse Connie (Shepherd) Messimore, son Howard Grant Messimore and wife Meghan Messimore, sons Matthew Gary Messimore and Troy Barnes, son Lloyd Garrett Messimore and wife Christina Messimore, son Francis Gerrard Messimore and Atosha, and daughter Sarah-Susanne Lorene Messimore-Rutledge. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren as well as 1 brother, Lee Messimore, and 1 sister, Gayelynn Oakley. Graveside services for Lloyd will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at the Hickory grove Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma. A visitation for Lloyd will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
