Linda Copeland

Linda Kay Copeland, better known as "Memaw" and "Meme", went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2013 surrounded by her family. Linda was born during a blizzard on September 26, 1942 to Charles and Anna Louise (Coppedge) Giles in Vinita, OK. Linda had just completed 40 years of service at Home of Hope in Vinita. She loved working with the residents at Home of Home and her special friends Alice Nall, Paula Bryant, and Wanda Scott, along with many other friends. She was a very giving person and loved by all. Linda's hobbies included sewing, canning, garage sales, collecting bears, and cooking family dinners. Her beloved dog Peaches was always right by her. On July 26, 1968 she was united in marriage to Frank Copeland and together they raised Frank's five children. Survivors include Frank's four children: Frankey Copeland and wife Kay of Claremore, Alan Copeland of Vinita, Terrel Copeland of Kellyville, Deloris Copeland of Mannford, her three grandchildren she loved and raised as her own: Malinda Malley and husband Trevor of Adair, Dawnelle Freeman and husband William of Claremore, Staff Sargent Frankey "Bubba" Copeland and wife Ashley of Camp Lejeune, NC, 7 great grandchildren: Sydney and L.T. Malley of Adair, Tyson and Emily Freeman of Claremore, Masyn, Eli, and Shooter Copeland of Camp Lejeune, NC, siblings: Elizabeth Morgan of Tulsa, John Giles of wife Diane of Vinita, Janice Hinds of Vinita, and sister-in-law Anita Giles of Vinita, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Louise Giles, husband Frank Copeland, daughter Joyce Copeland, brother Don Giles, nephew David Giles, and Niece Stephanie Johnson. Linda will be missed by all. Memorials may be sent to the Home of Hope P.O. Box 903, Vinita, OK 74301 Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 also at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eddie Wrinkle officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com
