Lawrence Wyckoff

Lawrence Edward "Sonny" Wyckoff, 66-year-old Wann resident, passed away at 8:30p.m., Friday, March 16, 2007 at his home. Sonny Wyckoff was born December 25, 1940 in Lenapah, Oklahoma to Willliam E. Wyckoff and Jewell Collies-Wyckoff. He grew up and attended schools in Lenapah. Mr. Wyckoff served his country in the United States Army. After his service, Mr. Wyckoff later became employed as a printer for the Martin-Merriatta Press in Denver, Colorado. On November 26, 1986 he married Christine Kaminski in Coffeyville, Kansas, she survives of the home. Mr. Wyckoff loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and guns. Mr. Wyckoff also was an animal lover. He had several dogs and also raised cattle. Mr. Wyckoff enjoyed watching westerns and sports on television and was also a big Denver Broncos fan. A person could occasionally catch him tinkering with engines or his C.B. radio, but quite often would see him mowing the yard in his old straw hat. Additional survivors are 3 step-children, Tammy and her husband Tim Thornton of Wann, Michael Dermont of Lenapah, and Tony Dermont of the home; 3 sisters, Dora Mae Fuller of South Coffeyville, Joyce Cahill of Centennial, Colorado, and Barbara McKellip of Denver, Colorado; 2 grandchildren, Rachel and Lindsey Thornton of Wann; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Connie Ray Wyckoff; a sister, Sharron Turney, and a step-son, Nick Dermont.
