Kevin Steele

Kevin Reed Steele, 61, of Vinita, OK passed away Thursday November 28, 2019 after a courageous struggle with illness.

Kevin was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Richard “Dick” and Patricia “Pat” Steele. During the early seventies, his family moved to Vinita, where Kevin graduated from Vinita High School. Kevin worked thirty-two years for Eastern State Hospital, first as a psychiatric aide and later as a Registered Nurse. He was an avid gunsmith, a life-time member of the NRA, and he loved tinkering with old cars and watches. Kevin enjoyed sharing a beer with his best friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dick Steele, and his grandparents, Perry & Helen Steele.

Survivors include mother, Patricia “Pat” Steele of Grove, OK; daughter, Kirby and her husband Jesse Rogers of Miami, OK; son, Jordan Steele, of Vinita, OK; brothers, Dwayne Steele and wife, Patty of Fairland, OK, Shawn Steele and wife, Laura of Yukon, OK; aunt, Helen Weber (Ed) of Auxvasse, MO; uncle, William Steele and wife, Susan of Trenton, SC; niece and nephew, Miranda & Rex Steele of Kansas City, MO, along with numerous cousins, and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, OK. Following cremation, a celebration of Kevin’s life will be held for family and close friends at a later date. The family requests that memorials be given to your favorite local charities in honor of Kevin.
