Kermit Purcell

Kermit Galen Purcell, Jr. lifetime resident of Big Cabin, OK, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at home. Galen was born on Jan. 25, 1934 in Waynesville, N.C. to Kermit Galen and Virginia Mattie (Seay) Purcell. He served in the Navy from 1951-1955. After the military he started work in the construction field being self-employed at G. Purcell & Sons Motel Renovations where he spent most of his life traveling. Galen loved spending time with his friends and grandkids. Survivors are; Sons; Mike & Connie Purcell of Big Cabin, OK Tim and Rhonda Purcell of Candler, NC Randy Purcell and Phillip Purcell both of Ashville, NC Jeff & Liz Richardson of Tulsa Daughter- Susan and Rex Bennett of Big Cabin, OK Brothers; Ted L. & Julie Purcell of Durham, NC Robert W. & Sandra Purcell of Brevard, NC Sister-Sharon & Mike Toney of Buies Creek, NC Uncle-Glenn Purcell of Houston, TX 16 Grandchildren Numerous Cousins, Nephews and Nieces Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel of Vinita with Rev. Ted L. Purcell officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Cabin Cemetery.
