Kanta Croll

January 12, 1938 — November 9, 2011

Kanta Gayle Canaday was born January 12, 1938 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Wood Canaday and Iva (Sheets) Canaday. She was a graduate of Neodesha High School, the class of 1955 where she was nominated Basketball Queen with Jim Croll as Basketball King. It took a few years but Kanta and Jim, high school sweethearts, were reunited in 2007 and married on October 20, 2007. It was a blessing to both. Kanta became a Respiratory Therapist while living in New York City and then moved to Tucson, Arizona where she lived for 25 years before settling back in this part of the country. She changed careers to follow her heart in the health and social services realm, working with Four County Mental Health in Kansas and Billie's Health Food Center in downtown Bartlesville. Kanta had many joys in her life; her family and friends brought her great pleasure as did her travels, especially to India. Kanta and Jim went to all the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Basketball games and she loved the Arizona Wildcats. She was a member of the International Women's Society in Bartlesville and loved meeting new people. Kanta was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Reece and sister, Margie. She is survived by: her husband, Jim Croll; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a huge family of friends she has touched in her life. We will all miss her joyful laugh.
