John Tinsley

John Calvin Tinsley, 67-year-old Tulsa resident, passed away at 12:44a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. John Calvin Tinsley was born September 19, 1939 in Lenapah, Oklahoma to James Tinsley and Etta Mae Scott-Tinsley. Mr. Tinsley graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa and went on to attend the University of Arizona. Mr. Tinsley served his country in the United States Army until he was discharged due to an injury. He loved basketball and football and spent numerous hours hunting and fishing. Mr. Tinsley is survived by four daughters, Danielle of Tucson, Arizona, Joleen of Tucson, Peaches of Tulsa, Shawnda of Tucson; by one son, Shawn of Tucson; by one brother, James Tinsley of Tulsa; and by five grandchildren. Mr. Tinsley was preceded in death by his parents; by two sisters, Mary and Cora Lee; and by one brother, Frank.
