Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita...... 918 - 256 - 5555 John Wayne Bowers, 61 year old Vinita resident, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 23, 1954 in Vinita to S. C. and Bonnie (Bicford) Bowers. John worked for the City of Vinita as an equipment operator. He liked hot rods and fast cars, fishing and being in nature, along with being around his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Christina Tanner, Winnie Hankins, Linda Mead, brother Stanley Walker, a great niece Lexas Watkins and two infant sisters and a brother. The family includes: his daughter, Terry Harris and husband Michael of Vinita, a son Shawn Bowers and wife Angela of Vinita; brothers, Larry Parker, Delbert Bowers, Emmitt Bowers, Ronnie Parker, Richard Walker, John Parker; one sister Pat Haney; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; niece and nephew, Dale and Charlene Samples and great-niece Sara Bell Samples. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Vinita Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor David Stevens officiating.
