John Robinson

John Arthur Robinson, 67, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 13, 2010 at his home in Bartlesville. John was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma October 4, 1942 the son of Forrest Robinson and Emogene (Hall) Robinson. He was raised and educated in Ponca City graduating from Ponca City, High School in 1961. John served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and then served in the National Guard for 13 years. While attending Okmulgee Technical School John started his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company retiring in 2002 with 32 dedicated years of service.. John was united in marriage with Linda S. Johnson on October 1, 1976 in Ark City, Kansas. In 2007 John and Linda moved to Bartlesville to be closer to family. John was, for some time, a member of "BACCA" Bikers Against Child Abuse" and "CWA" Communications Workers of America. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing country music songs. Linda was the love of his life and his biggest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. John is survived by his loving wife Linda of the home, five children, Rick Vangilder and his wife Christen of Pensacola, FL, Jamie Byers and her husband Brent of Bartlesville, OK, Sean Robinson and his wife LaVonna of Billings, MT, Forrest Robinson and his wife Tonya of Lolo, MT and Johnna Nkwonta and her husband George of Bethany, OK., nine grandchildren, Jameson and Ella Vangilder, Josh and Jordan Byers, Aleah, Cloe and Lily Robinson, Autumn and Ailey Robinson, and one sister Ellen Estes of Ponca City, OK. John is preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mutual Girls Club, PO Box 2405, Bartlesville, OK, 74005 At John's request a public funeral will not be held, instead a celebration of Johns' life will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010. Friends are encouraged to visit the family for an informal greeting at the family home located at 5449 Woodland Road in Bartlesville from 3 to 7 PM.
