Jessie Reeves

Jessie Lee Reeves, 84, of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, died Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2013 at Barnsdall Nursing Home, where she had resided the past five years. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Pawhuska Cemetery, Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Monday until 8 p.m. at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, Bartlesville and Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. at Stumpff-Barnsdall Funeral Home. Jessie was born June 26, 1929 at Tulsa, Oklahoma to Walter & Mamie Lee (Brannon) Elvington. She was raised in Tulsa and attended Union Schools. Jessie married Albert Raymond Toon in 1945 at Alsuma, Oklahoma. The couple moved to Barnsdall and later divorced. She later married Drewey Vanderpool "Shorty" Reeves, Jr. on April 8, 1966 at Sedan, Kansas. Mr. Reeves preceded his wife in death on February 16, 1991. Jessie was a homemaker and a member of Barnsdall Free Will Baptist Church and was Residential President of Barnsdall Nursing Home. Survivors are her children, Teresa Jean Reeves & husband, Lloyd Thomas of Wynona, OK, Sylvia Lee Coldiron of Pawhuska, OK, Raymond Loyd Toon of San Jose, CA, James Walter Toon & his wife, Katherine Elizabeth of Barnsdall, OK, Eldon Douglas Reeves & wife, Debbie Hernandez of Barnsdall, Lloyd Thomas Reeves & wife, Teresa of Wynona, Charles Ray Reeves & wife, Nancy of Barnsdall, Johnny Kriss Reeves & wife, Marjorie of Nelagoney, OK, Gerald Ray Toon & wife, Mary Jo of Beggs, OK, Geraldine Marie Estrada & husband, Dan of Beggs, Katherine Rene Stiger & husband, Al of Beggs, Carl Asbury Toon of Eufala, OK and Eliza B. Morgan & husband, Brandon of Beggs; two sisters, Alma June Mathis of Jackson's Gap, AL and Shirley Teuton & husband, Jim of Terrell, TX; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Reeves of Wynona; a brother-in-law, Virgil Davis of Tahlequah, OK, a beloved friend, Dan LaPlant of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Cheryl & Sonny Lee, Lorrie "Sissy" Reeves & Sam Young, Michael & Melony Toon, David Patrick Toon, Timothy James Toon, Amber Reeves, Angel Reeves, Charles Anthony Reeves, David Brian Reeves, Janice Laray Hansen, Justin Ray Reeves, Brice Reeves, Malissa Reeves-Shook, Lindsey Michelle Richard, Raven Christie Reeves, Quincy Reeves, Christopher Reeves and Rebecca Reeves; great-grandchildren, David Palinskee III, Danny Palinskee, Jessica Lee, Josh Ware, Caitlin Ware, Mason Young, Ryan Carter, Josh Toon and Tristen Toon; one great-great-granddaughter, Autumn Grace Ware; a grandson-in-law, David Palinsee II; many other family and many, many friends. Jessie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Shorty Reeves; a son, Vander Leon Reeves; a daughter, Betty June Reeves; three sisters, Leara Mae Davis, Betty Jean Stevens and Opal Rendon; brother, Ferdean Lavern Elvington; a granddaughter, Samantha Palinskee and a brother-in-law, Johnny Shultz.
