Jesse Morrow

Disney, OK - Jesse P. Morrow, Jr., 91, died Wednesday morning, February 7, 2007 at his home in Disney. Jesse, or "Buster", as he was known to friends and family alike, was born May 9, 1915 at Rowe, Oklahoma to Jesse P. "Tobe" Morrow, Sr. and Maggie D. (Martin) Morrow. He grew up northwest of Topsy, Oklahoma and attended Seed Tick School. Buster married Vida Mae Robertson on May 20, 1944 at the Delaware County Courthouse in Jay, Oklahoma. The couple moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Buster was a bus driver there. He worked for Grand River Dam Authority for 14 years, became a trucker for several years and finally worked in construction 14 years prior to his retirement in 1978. While in the construction business, Buster helped build the Markham Ferry Dam on Lake Hudson. The Morrows moved from Tahlequah to Jay, Oklahoma, then to a farm in Topsy, before moving to Disney in 1950. Buster was a member of the Disney Assembly of God. He loved to fish, hunt and garden. Buster especially liked growing strawberries. He was family-oriented and compassionate and generous to those he met. Survivors include his wife, Vida of the home; one daughter, Lorene Schaller and her husband, Larry of Disney; a son, Larry Morrow and his wife, Susan of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by nine brothers and one sister. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2007 at Disney Assembly of God with Rev. Daryl Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mose Ridge Cemetery, Topsy, Oklahoma under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay. The family suggests that friends who wish may donate to Good Shepherd Hospice.
