Jay Willis Ford was born August 2, 1933 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. He was the son of Julian Ford and Marie Willis Ford. Jay lived in Chelsea, Oklahoma before moving to Bartlesville 40 years ago. Jay and Jennie Keith were united in marriage on July 1, 1966 and they continued their home in Bartlesville. Jay served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1960 and upon his honorable discharge from the service, he returned to Bartlesville. Jay was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone repairman for many years. He was a member of the Memorial Christian Church in Bartlesville. Among his many interests were memberships in the Black Dog Muzzeloading Club and the NRA. He made his own rifles by hand and he enjoyed competition shooting. Another interesting hobby was working with gourds which he made into canteens and gourd-rattles to be used by Indian dancers. Survivors include his wife, Jennie Keith Ford of the home; children, Christy Ford Benavides and her husband, Marshall, Jr., of Grand Prairie, Texas, John Ford and his wife, Robyn, of Sedan, Kansas, and Jean Eden of Dewey, Oklahoma; brother, Jesse Ford of Delaware, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Joshua, Benavides, Daniel Benavides, Justyne Eden and Jae Eden; and cousins, Vern Birdsong and Bud Birdsong;
