Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home - Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. James A.A. "Jim" Easter, passed away at his home in Zena, Oklahoma on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the age of 82. Jim was born; October 22, 1934 in rural Delaware County near Zena, Oklahoma. He was the oldest son of the late James Oliver and Cordelia Vertie (Bartley) Easter. He graduated from Hays High School in Hays, Kansas in 1953. He also attended Fort Hays State College where he was a gymnast. James married Elizabeth V. Hase on July 7, 1956 in Miami, Oklahoma. Jim worked at many jobs over the years. He harvested wheat and grass across the northern part of the country. He was a pilot and ground instructor. He worked at Boeing Industries in Wichita, Kansas and Dover Industries in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jim also worked at the Sports Center in Grove, and fished commercially on Grand Lake, then he opened his own repair shop (The Fix-It-Shop) in the early 1960's. After closing his repair shop in the early 1990's, he took a job as a maintenance for the Grand Lake Manor and the Betty Ann Nursing Home. He was an avid bowler who was recently named as this year's GLAUSBC Hall Of Fame Inductee. Jim was a mechanic, an electrician, a carpenter, and all around handyman who seldom found something he couldn't fix. He was a caregiver for his wife during the last few years of her life, a role model for his children and grandchildren, and a pillar of strength for his family. He will be greatly missed. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Elizabeth, his only sibling Theron Oliver Easter; two great granddaughters Kyleigh Rosalie and Jordyn Dawn and one great grandson; William Vincent. He is survived by his children; three sons: Michael Easter and his wife Marbie, Norman Easter and his wife Mary, and Jimmie Easter and his wife Jessica all of Zena, Oklahoma; two daughters Jennifer Smith of Grove, Oklahoma, and Ollie Page and her husband Harvey of Zena, Oklahoma; twenty-five grandchildren; fifty-eight great grandchildren; his sister-in-law Peggy Easter of Hickory Grove, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Moore presiding. The burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends from 2-4 pm, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
