Jack White

Jack White, passed away at St. Francis Medical Center in Tulsa, OK, on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the age of 88. Jack was born October 9, 1924 in Tulsa, OK, the son of the late Edward M. White and Maude Ellen (Stinson) White. Jack attended high school in Tahlequah, OK, until 1942 when he joined the United States Navy serving his country during WWII. During his service, Jack met and married Pegge. They were married for 68 years. After the war, Jack worked for an insurance company and then at Safeway Grocery in Oskaloosa, Iowa. In 1948 Jack re-enlisted, this time joining the Air Force. During his term with the Air Force, Jack spent time in Texas, Louisiana and Panama. After completing his second term, Jack and Pegge moved to Chouteau, Okla and then Tulsa where Jack established Stewart-White & Associates. While in Chouteau Jack was involved in the First Christian Church where he served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, and worship leader. After retiring Jack and Pegge moved to Grove where he enjoyed fishing, working on his boats, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Pegge of the home; two daughters: Sheryl Goforth and her husband Bob of Tulsa, OK, Jacque Orsack and her husband Gene of Grove, OK; seven grandchildren: Rene Jones and her husband Mitch, Katie Strawn and her husband David, Staci Stewart and her husband Phil, Cathy Kibbe and her husband Mike, Keri McAlvain and her husband Jarred, Sharilyn Sobities and her husband Andrew, and Michael Heise; and 17 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11AM with Dr. Wayne Shaw, presiding. The burial will follow at the Olympus North Cemetery in Grove, OK. The family will greet friends from 7PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK on Thursday, January 3, 2013. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Jack's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Mitch Jones, David, Strawn, Phil Stewart, and Jarred McAlvain. Honorary casket bearers will be Bob Goforth, Gene Orsack and Ike Heise.
