Irene Bergman

Irene Mae (Mathia) Bergman, 88, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away Sunday July 10, 2011. Irene was born on November 25, 1922 in Turkey Ford, Oklahoma to Arthur Mathia and Nada (Harrison) Mathia. She graduated from Grove High School in 1939. She married William E. "Bill" Bergman on June 8, 1940 in Jay, Oklahoma. Irene was a homemaker most of her life but also worked as a bookkeeper for the family business for fifty one years. Irene loved and cherished her family and the farm life and every aspect of it. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill", and one great grandchild. Irene is survived by five children, Leonard Bergman, and wife Sandy of Vinita, Oklahoma, Nadalene Arnall, and husband Bob, of Grove, Oklahoma, Irene Seubold, and husband Henry of Roland, Oklahoma, William C. "Billy" Bergman, and wife Charlotte, of Grove, Oklahoma, and Kathy Bradley, and husband Steve,of Springdale, Arkansas, brother, Gene Mathia of Grove, Oklahoma, sister, Thelma Bennett, of Grove, Oklahoma, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Irene will be held at 1st Christian Church in Grove, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 with Dr. Wayne Shaw officiating Interment will follow at the Olympus Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove. Visitation hours for Irene will be from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 12, 2011, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
