Ira E. Kroh Jr., age 80, a lifelong resident of Dewey died Thursday May 25, 2006 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Ira E. Kroh Jr. was born on January 30, 1926 to Ira Ellsworth Kroh Sr. and Tina (Miller) Kroh in Dewey, Oklahoma. He was raised and educated in Dewey graduating from the Dewey High School. Ira served in the U.S. Army post war Japan. Ira E. Kroh Jr. and Betty Large were united in marriage on June 1, 1951 in Bartlesville. In 1950, Ira started his 35-year career with the Phillips petroleum company retiring in 1985. Ira was a member of the New Hope Indian United Methodist Church for many years and will be dearly missed by all those who new and loved him. Ira E. Kroh Jr. is survived by his wife Betty Kroh of Dewey, one son Kelly Kroh of Tulsa, Ok., one brother Tom and his wife Lanora Kroh of Bartlesville, two sisters Betty and her husband Allan Matlock of Welling, Ok., Beverly and her husband Bill Boothe of Dewey, one brother-in-law Bob and his wife Margaret Large of Houma, Louisiana, one sister-in-law Pat and her husband Roy Melton of Bartlesville, his New Hope Indian United Methodist Church Family, Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Ira is preceded in death by his parents Ira Ellsworth Kroh Sr. and Tina (Miller) Kroh. A memorial has been established with the New Hope Indian United Methodist Church and those who wish to contribute may do so in lieu of flowers to the New Hope Indian United Methodist Church, PO Box 503, Dewey, Oklahoma 74029-0503. Funeral services for Mr. Ira E. Kroh Jr. will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the New Hope Indian United Methodist Church in Dewey, Oklahoma. Rev. Rodger Scott of the New Hope Indian United Methodist Church of Dewey will preside over the services. Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
