Helen Steele

Helen Katheryn Steele, 91, a resident of Vinita passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2006 in Grove, OK at Grove Nursing Center. She was born in Gridley, Kansas on April 26, 1915 to William and Augusta (Meyer) Weide. She married Perry Steele on February 29, 1936 in Kansas City, MO. They lived in Kansas City until moving to Vinita, OK in 1971. She was preceded in death by Perry in 2001 after 65 years of Marriage. She is survived by a daughter, Helen Weber and her husband C. E. Weber of Auxvasse, MO, two sons, Dick and wife Pat Steele of Grove, OK, and Bill and wife Kathy Steele of Martinex, Georgia. She also had eight grandsons and thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Elmer Weide of Kansas City and two sisters, Ethel Chowning and Dorothy Gipson, both of Raytown, MO. Graveside services will be on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 1:30 PM at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, MO with Reverend John Paylor officiating. Interment is under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, OK.
