Benjamin Funeral Service ~~~ Nowata, Oklahoma ~~~ 918-273-2700 Funeral services for Giles "Butch" Chism Vaughan Jr., 48, of Nowata will be conducted Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., at the Nowata Middle School Gymnasium. Burial will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. Butch Vaughan was born August 2, 1967 in Sacramento, California to Giles Chism Vaughan Sr. and JoAnn Sorensen. He died July 21, 2016. Butch never met a stranger. He was a dedicated father and husband and held a special place in everyone's heart. He was known for his beautiful smile and warm heartfelt hugs as well as a face-ripper, arm bar, or sleephold. He enjoyed vacations with family and friends, throwing a line, and spending countless hours under the moonlight listening to his coon dogs sing their song. He will always be remembered for his lengthy conversations whether in person or by phone which led to friendships near and far. He will be truly missed. He is survived by his wife Melodie Vaughan of the home; four children, Joshua Fisher, Maranda Denae Wright and husband Christopher "Cain" Wright, Dillon Chism Vaughan and wife Kasadee Vaughan, and Amelia Marie Vaughan. He was expecting his first grandchild granddaughter River Maree Vaughan of Dillon and Kasadee Vaughan in August. He is survived by his father, Giles Vaughan; his mother, JoAnn Sorensen; three sisters, Kelly Robinson, Kimberly Renfroe and her husband Michael Renfroe, Rebecca Alspach; a brother Steven Alspach and wife Joy Alspach; five nieces, Ashley Parrett and husband Andrew Parrett, Amanda Camp and her husband Sean Camp, Brooke Hallett, Megan Haley and her husband Eric Haley, Mariah Gifford and her husband Tyler Gifford; two nephews, Michael "Gregory" Renfroe II, and Jeffery "Blake" Hallett. He is preceded in death by a son, Stormy Reed Vaughan; stepmom Katherine Vaughan; brother-in-law Billy Robinson; nephew Cody Renfroe; niece Rachel Renfroe and father-in-law, Fred Rose.
