Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery in Childers. Family will be receiving friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Benjamin Funeral Service. Mrs. Evaline "Lina" Mae Parret, age 87 and resident of Nowata passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 in Coffeyville, KS. Evaline "Lina" Mae Parrett began her journey through this life on August 6, 1929 in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Virgil and Minnie Myrtle (Wallace) Reeder. She grew up in Nowata where she received her education. Lina and Doyal Parret where united in marriage in December of 1948. Lina and Doyle made their home in Nowata and where blessed with five children. In 1970, Lina and Doyle moved to Farmington, New Mexico for 2 years and then to Lybrook, New Mexico. In 1986 Lina and Doyal returned to Nowata. Lina was an active member of First United Pentecostal Church in Coffeyville. She enjoyed going to the Library, reading Louis L'Amour Westerns, playing Bingo, going to the casino and she loved to rodeo. What Lina enjoyed most, was spending time with her family. Lina is survived by three children, Marion Parrett of Elgin, Kansas, Barbara Bolte-Scott and husband Johnnie of Jay, Oklahoma, Shelly Benson and husband Timmie of Noxie, Oklahoma, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Minnie Reeder; her husband, Doyal Parrett; two children, Myrtle Bond and Patrisca Grindle and one sibling, Parvon Manis. Memorials in Lina's name may be made to any cancer society of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Benjamin Funeral Service.
