Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555...... Ernest Lee Jones, Jr. 73 year old Big Cabin resident, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018. Ernie was born in Ashdown, AR on September 14, 1944 to Ernest Jones, Sr. and Betty Jean (Cook) Jones. On June 7, 1975 he was united in marriage to Betty Ponder. Ernie was an active member of the Big Cabin Baptist Church as well as the community. He was a past school board member and was a member of the Big Cabin Town Council. He retired from the volunteer fire department after 23 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and doing small engine repair. He cherished his family and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his loving wife Betty Jones of the home, children: Janet Johnson and husband Charley, Christopher Jones and wife Cheryl, and Crystal Derwin and husband Derek, 13 grandchildren: Jessica Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Matthew Jones, Mason Jones, Nicholas Jones, Danielle Derwin, Kale Derwin, Cheyenne Fincel, RaeLynn Fincel, Scotty Fincel, Myranda Masters, Emilie Masters, and Natalie Masters, 2 great grandchildren: Lilly Cruz and Daisee Cruz, one sister Nancy Melnicker and husband Barry, and lifetime friend Wayne Settle. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Marquilla Ann Jones, grandson Ricky Beeson, and siblings Ann McBride and Gean McCoy. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Big Cabin Baptist Church with Brother Kim Schmidt officiating.
