Eleanor Mowles

Eleanor Faith (Hamburger) Mowles, born on November 4, 1933 in Corn, Oklahoma to Raymond and Bernice (Mosteller) Hamburger, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the home she shared with her husband Bob Mowles whom she married on June 2, 1956. Eleanor bravely contended with cancer with courage and grace, left this life being comforted by her family. Eleanor graduated from Corn High School in 1952 and attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Among her many skills were gardening, cake decorating, oil painting and cooking. While living in Farmington, New Mexico, she taught cake decorating at San Juan College. Through the years she lovingly created wedding and specialty cakes for family and friends. Eleanor enjoyed traveling and camping with her family, especially in the mountains. Their travels took them to all the states except Alaska. She so enjoyed photographing flowering cactus in their natural habitat, rock collecting and desert three wheeling. Eleanor is survived by her husband Bob, two sons Bobby J. Mowles Jr. and Darrell Ray Mowles, three grandchildren Kaitlan Mowles, Jeremy Mowles and Chris Hoaglin and one great grandson Rhett Hoaglin. She is also survived by her sister Maralin Noble and her husband Jack of Belton, Missouri, one brother Keith Hamburger and wife Kathleen of Paden, Oklahoma four nieces one nephew all who will miss her influence love and hospitality. Visitation will be on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Duffield Cemetery in Jay with Reverend Gary Bishop officiating. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Friends and family may send online condolences at www.honoringmemories.com. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Grove.
