Grove, OK - Edwin Frederick "Ed" Kraft, 42, lost his battle with cancer, Sunday, May 14, 2006 at Integris Grove General Hospital. Ed was born December 5, 1963 in Denver, Colorado to Edwin T.F. Kraft and Hideko (Suzuki) Kraft. He grew up in Denver and also lived in Japan and California, before coming to Oklahoma in 1992. Ed moved to Grove in 1996. He married Becky S. Ross on April 27, 1996 at Nowata, Oklahoma. Ed was the School Resource Officer/DARE instructor for the Grove Police Department. He had been on the department for nine years. Prior to his service with Grove PD, Ed worked for Benjamin Funeral Service, Nowata and the Nowata Police Department. He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army. Ed was a member of Hickory Grove Church and the Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors include his wife, Becky, of the home; two sons, Matt Huey of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Deacon Kraft of the home; one daughter, Madyson Kraft of the home; two grandchildren, Brenton and Braylon Huey, both of Tulsa; a special member of the family, Daniel Borges do Rosario of Hamburg, Germany and all of his DARE kids. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and by a daughter, Michelle Huey, on January 10, 2002. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Grove Civic Center with Pastor Barry O'Neal officiating. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, north of Grove, under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at the funeral home.
