Douglas Campbell

December 1, 1971 — May 2, 2011

On Wednesday, December 1, 1971, a bouncing baby boy was born to Kenneth (Bud) & Ruth Campbell at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. From the first Sunday he was dedicated to the Lord he cried every service for the first year of his life. It would also be a year before he slept all night. There was times when he was just a baby that he would respond to something we couldn't see and believed to be angels. He was several years younger than his siblings and they loved to tease him saying lets ignore Doug. He didn't know what ignore meant but he didn't want it and would say, "Don't more me!" They loved him dearly. Doug was saved and baptized at an early age. He was reared in church and loved the Lord. He was a member of The Sanctuary in Chelsea. Doug was a talented man and did a lot of things in his short time. There was much more he wanted to pursue, among those were his musical abilities. Doug graduated from Condry Christian School as Salutatorian in May 1990. He also took machine shop at Vo-Tech in Pryor during his high school years. He worked several years as a machinist. He graduated from Vo-tech in Tulsa in Aviation and got his A&P license. He worked for American Airlines for numerous years. Doug loved to entertain family and friends with his funny stories. He was greatly loved and is missed. He departed this life and entered into the heavenly life May 2, 2011 at Chelsea, OK in a tragic accident. He leaves behind his parents, Kenneth & Ruth Campbell of Big Cabin, two sisters: Sherry Ramseyer of Vinita & Linda and Chuck Tarr of Tulsa, two brothers: Robert and Malinda Campbell of Big Cabin, and Albert and Donna Campbell of Adair, , also Sheri Gorham a very special person in his life, one son Cale Campbell, and two daughters: Chloe and Carly of Chelsea, the mother of his children Joy Campbell, A special uncle Jim and Letha Tarneus of Pryor, as well as other aunts and uncles, two nieces, six nephews, great nieces and nephews, his grandmother Inice Terneus formerly of Pryor currently of Big Cabin, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Everett & Ruth and Catherine (Surine) Campbell and his maternal grandfather Bill Terneus. Also a nephew Allen Willis who was like a brother to him, and Ryan Ramseyer. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Chelsea with Pastor Garry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Big Cabin Cemetery.
