Donald Scronce

Donald L. Scronce Donald L. Scronce age 76 of Grove, OK died on April 27, 2010 at Integris Grove General Hospital following a long illness. He was born on June 10, 1933 in Saint Louis, MO. to Lyle and Sylvia (Kennamore) Scronce. Don married Mary C. "Sue" Tyson on January 8, 1956 in Hernando, MI. She died September 17, 2002. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 39 years before retiring in 1993. Don's military service showed his dedicated service to our nation and commitment to defending the freedoms we all enjoy. Don was also owner of Tri-State Janitorial Service in Grove for several years. He was founding president of the Grand Lake Classic Car Club, and a former member of the Cowskin Fire Department, Toastmasters, Air Force Sergeants Association, and the AARP. Don enjoyed his retirement years at his home on Grand Lake while showing his 1966 Mustang Convertible at numerous car shows in the area. He also enjoyed dining out at several local restaurants where he was well known by several of the waitresses for his joking nature. Survivors include two sons; Michael Scronce and his wife Patti of Lake in the Hills, IL, Joe Scronce of Joplin, MO. Two Daughters; Donna Foster and her husband Bill of West Monroe, Louisiana; and Patty Brooks of Joplin, MO. Grand children; Kati Scronce of Chicago, IL; Valarie Brooks Duree and her husband T.J. of Wyandotte, OK; Evan Scronce of Lake of the Hills, IL. and Kimberly Brooks Grimm and her husband Zach Grimm of Joplin, MO. Great Grandchildren; Conner Duree and Aubre Grimm. He is also survived by one brother Bob Scronce of Saint Louis, MO.; and Don's "sweetie" Carol Foster of Grove, OK. A Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday April 29, 2010 in the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel followed by the funeral service at 7:00 pm the same evening with Reverend Bill Foster officiating. The burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday April 30, 2010 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK.
