Donald Blevins

Donald Blevins, passed away in Jay, OK on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the age of 55. Donald was born May 16, 1958 in Tulsa, OK, the son of Silas Blevins and Joann (Rose) Blevins. Donald attended school in Jay, OK. After his schooling, Donald worked for his father in the timber cutting business in Colorado until moving back to Oklahoma to work in the oil field in western Oklahoma in the 1980's. After the oil bust, Donald did various jobs before working on a road crew for the state of Oklahoma. Donald had a passion for fishing and hunting and also enjoyed painting art. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother Joann Blevins; and two grandsons: Jesse Carpenter and Jacob Carpenter. He is survived by his children: Kelly Carpenter and her husband Melvin, Jr. of Anderson, MO, and Kodi Myrick of Southwest City, MO; father Silas Blevins of Jay, OK; siblings: David Paxton and his wife Kay of Winfield, KS, Linda Kay McKinney of Corpus Christi, TX, John Blevins and his wife Shelly of Jay, OK, Sheila Law and her husband Garrell of Sulpher Springs, AR, Randy Blevins of Southwest City, MO; Kiamichi Weir of Jay, OK; Brittney Blevins of Jay, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Oak Chapel Church on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 2PM with Rev. Wesley Robbins, presiding. The burial will follow at the Indianola Cemetery in Jay, OK. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 6PM to 8PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK. Friends and family may leave notes of encouragement by viewing Donald's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com. Casket bearers will be Joshua Blevins, Joey Blevins, J.J. Blevins, Stoney Gooding, Tommy Ray Tate, and Leroy Flaming. Honorary casket bearers will be Kenny Clark, Garrell Law, and Rocky Gooding.
