Delores Williams

Delores Jewel (Lanfear) Williams, age 83 died on Tuesday August 9, 2011 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma. Delores, the daughter of Alferd and Mildred (Atkinson) Lanfear, was born on June 14, 1928 in McCune, Kansas. She graduated from McCune High School and attended Pittsburg State Teachers College. Delores was united in marriage to the love of her life Leslie L. Williams on Christmas Eve in 1948. During their marriage of sixty years, they lived overseas in South Korea and then Kuwait, before moving to Louisiana. They retired to Grove in 1987. Leslie preceded Delores in death in November 2009. Delores enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing, reading, crossword puzzles and traveling. She was a member of the Gonzales Methodist Church in Gonzales, Louisiana. Delores leaves many loving memories with her family, her late son Monty, and his wife Vickie of Cheney, Kansas, son Mark and his wife Beverly of Huntsville, Alabama, son Scott and his wife Karin of Houston, Texas and ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three nieces, one nephew and one sister, Coleen Parker of Lafayette, Louisiana. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday evening August 11, 2011 at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011 at the McCune United Methodist Church in McCune, Kansas with Linda Eads officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the McCune Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Gregory Williams, Justin Williams, David Williams, Benjamin Williams and Doug Churchill. Honorary Casket Bearer will be Matt Reida. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
