David Brodrick

David Leroy Brodrick was born April 29, 1950, to Mervin and Ila Brodrick of Wyandotte, OK. He attended school in Miami, OK. David enlisted in the United States Army in August of 1969 and was a graduate of Fort Benning, Georgia, Airborne Ranger School. While enlisted, he married Evelyn Lois Baty of Miami, OK, on October 29, 1971, and subsequently spent 2 years of service overseas in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1973 and came home to the Grove, OK area. David held a number of jobs in and around the Grove area throughout the years. Some of his favorites included driving a school bus for both the Miami and Grove public schools and servicing both the Jay and Grove areas as a paramedic. He also enjoyed being self-employed for a time. David was a family man and father of three children: Sunni Porter and her husband David of Grove, OK; Jeremy Brodrick and his wife Jennifer of Grove, OK; and Jeffrey Brodrick of Bartlesville, OK. He was the grandfather of Emily and Megan Porter and Tucker Brodrick all of Grove, OK. David was an avid gun collector and enjoyed playing cards and games. He was a dedicated family man. He was preceded in death by his father, Mervin Brodrick. He is survived by his mother, Ila Brodrick and brother, Ivan Brodrick and his wife Kathy all of Miami, OK; and sister, Diane Walker and her husband Jim of Tuscaloosa, AL. David went to be with our Lord on August 3, 2008, after an extended illness. Visitation will be at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove on Wednesday, August 6th from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 7th at the Delaware Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will immediately follow at Olympus Cemetery, Grove, OK. Pallbearers will be David Porter, Jeremy Brodrick, Carl Holt, Johnny Stroud, Lee Brodrick, Darin Stroud, Dustin Holland and Jarrell Gray. Ivan Brodrick and Jim Walker will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove is in charge of arrangements.
