Danna Minson

Danna Margaret (McKisick) Minson, 92 year old rural Vinita resident, died early Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Heartsworth Nursing Center. She was born on July 25, 1921 in Big Cabin to George and Mary (Landrum) McKisick. Danna was a graduate of Big Cabin schools. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and gardening, especially growing strawberries. She was a member of the Otterbein Methodist Quilting Club. Danna was employed as a nurse's aide at Eastern State Hospital. She also enjoyed working on the farm and driving the tractors. Survivors include her son Duncan Minson and wife Charlotte, grandchildren: David Minson and wife Kelli and Dee Ann Postier and husband Clarence, great grandchildren: Hanna Minson, Trenton Minson, Clayton Postier, Clint Postier, and Chris Postier all of Vinita, and one brother Joe McKisick of Catoosa. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard Minson, siblings Laurence McKisick, Dethalia Tippett, Catherine Mabery, and George McKisick. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Bechtold officiating. Interment will follow at Big Cabin Cemetery.
