Curtis Reeves

Curtis K. Reeves, 64, of Nowata, went to be with our lord and savior, Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Curtis was born June 27, 1949 to Imogene Owens, and Floyd Reeves in Lockwood, Missouri. Early Childhood years were spent growing up in Greenfield, Missouri. Curtis and siblings later moved to Nowata, Oklahoma, where he was a proud graduate of Nowata High School in 1967. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy where he served during the Vietnam War era. Upon returning to Nowata he began working in construction, where he became a member of the Carpenters Union of Tulsa, while working for The Public Service Company of Oklahoma in Oologah, OK. On February 14, 1975 Curtis married the love of his life Sheryl Diane "Caliman" Reeves. Following their marriage they made their home in Nowata, Oklahoma. Curtis attended The First Baptist Church of Nowata until 2002, later becoming a member of Full Gospel Church in Watova, OK. Curtis was a long time member of the American Legion Post 101. Curtis loved spending time with his family, and friends. Also spending time with his friends at Fullers PDQ, Family Dollar Store, and other various merchants in Nowata. Survivors include his wife, Sheryl of the home; three sons, Michael Reeves, Robert Reeves, and Benjamin Ames of Nowata; two grandsons, Desmon Kuehn, Nathaniel Hicks; two sisters, Karen Owens of Nowata, Annie Johnson of Joplin, MO; two brothers, Ricky Owens and Janet of Nowata, Stevie Reeves and wife of Joplin, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, and many loves ones. Curtis also loved his Grand-dogs Bentley and Zeus. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Kenny Reeves. Funeral services for Curtis are 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 21, 2013 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Joe Goodin officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
