Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita -- Christopher Gerald "Tater" Root, 47 year old Vinita resident, died Sunday, March 16,2014. Tater was born in Cincinnati, OH on September 19, 1966. He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing with his family and friends, listening to music, and working on his El Camino. Survivors include his mother Melvie Root of Big Cabin, his other half Shelia Davis of Vinita, siblings: Don Root of Vinita, Pete Root and wife Becky of Big Cabin, Kathy Black and husband Don of Big Cabin, Vernon Root, Jr. of Big Cabin, Crystal Pleasant and husband Eddie of Manford, OK, James Root and wife Teresa of Welch, Jane Martin and husband Lincoln of Chelsea, and Jarred Root of Ft. Moody, GA, sister-in-laws Amy Fair and husband Wayne, Christina Webb, and mother-in-law Harriett Palmer, all of Vinita, step daughters: Amber Graves and Shaundra Graves, and step grandchildren: Brayden Graves, Kynzee Cantu, Allen Reed, Aurora Reed, and LilliAnn Freeman, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Big Cabin Cemetery with Donald Black officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
