Charles West

Charles Ward West, age 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior, while surrounded by his family, on Saturday, August 25, 2012 in Grove, Oklahoma. Charles was born March 14, 1935, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Everette Rolley and Louise Ellen (Hogan) West. After graduating from Tulsa Central High school in 1953, Charles proudly served and eventually retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. Charles was also a member of the Zena Baptist Church. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lanette West, and one brother, Joe West. Charles is survived by his children, David West and his wife, Donett of Lavon, Texas and Sherri Alterbach and her husband James of Atlanta, Georgia, one sister, Caroline Hunt, and her husband Lloyd of Grove, Oklahoma. Charles was blessed with four grandchildren; Stephanie West, Dillon West, Jacob Hoyt and Lauren Hogan and one great-grandchild Caleb Hoyt. A memorial service for Charles will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday September 1, 2012 at the Zena Baptist Church, Pastor Rick Thomas will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project care of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home (711 S.
