Charles Palazzola

Charles Ely Palazzola, passed away at his home in Grove, OK on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the age of 77. Charles was born on June 18, 1936 in Miami, FL, the son of the late Jeff and Ione Palazzola. As a young child, Charles grew up with his grandmother in Tampa Bay, FL and his aunt who lived in New Orleans, LA. Once he was able to leave his house, Charles worked with his step father for a while driving trucks. Charles later joined the United States Marines and served for 6 years including Vietnam until being honorably discharged. After the service Charles fought fires on oil rigs with Red Adair until running a fleet of trucks pushing rigs out into the oil field. Later Charles took to the road in his truck until retiring. Charles married Jennie L. Wood on June 30, 1987 in Tennessee. Charles enjoyed traveling especially during retirement spending he summers in Oregon and Washington and winters in South Padre. He also enjoyed fishing and listening to George Strait and Martina McBride. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one daughter. He is survived by his three sons: Bobby Palazzola and his wife Carolyn of Longview, TX, Chucky Palazzola and his wife Hazel of Guthrie, OK, and Frankie Palazzola and his wife Mary Ann of Houston, TX; Jennie's children: Kathy Kusler, Richard Lee Wood, Bobby Wood, Eddie Wood, and Michael Wood; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10AM with Chaplain John McPhail, presiding. Cremation will follow the service. There will be public visitation on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 8AM to 5PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK.
