Charles Monroe Crawford, 84 year old local rancher, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 after a short illness. Charles was born March 7, 1932 in Cleora, Oklahoma, to Charles R. Monroe and Rilla (Smith) Crawford. Charles served in United States Air Force and was a pilot, he was stationed in the Philippines, Manilla and Japan. He was an avid reader, enjoyed hunting and fishing, Fox News in his opinion was the only news. He had a love for flying from his childhood. Charles favorite mornings were drinking coffee at Kahoots escorted by his dog Squirt, they were an inseparable pair. He also enjoyed playing the harmonica. Charles taught Vocational Agriculture at Fairland High School and had been a flight instructor as well. He was preceded in death by his father & mother one step-daughter Denise Bauman of Phoenix, Arizona. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of the home, brother, Loyd Crawford and wife Jeannie of Cleora, sons Steve Crawford of Vinita, Kelly Crawford of Cleora, Kenny Crawford of Fairland, daughters Kathleen Hill and husband Don of Grove, Lea Ann Pisarik and husband Paul of Owasso, step-son Trace Gieser and wife Jaime of Langley, step-daughter Keli Graham and husband Dan of Broken Arrow, eight grand-children, five step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and 1 niece and 2 nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, from 6 to 8 pm at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 1 at 2:00 pm at the Cleora Methodist Church with Pastors Loyd Crawford and Stephen Nation officiating, Pallbearers will be Dustin Crawford,Trent Hill, Cody Graham, Tyler Epperson Michael Hurblet, and Paul Parrigon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Crawford, John Crawford, Jim Smith and Preston Smith. Interment will follow at McLaughlin Cemetery. On-line condolences may be left at honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
